The single will be sure to arouse the attention of today’s youth and get some heads bopping as the single also incorporates styles from the Hip-Hop genre. The lyrics to the song Oh Rann were originally written & composed by the legendary Amar Singh Chamkila Ji, who was a high-profile Punjabi singer, songwriter, and musician and was regarded as one of the greatest Punjabi folk performers that the world had ever seen. DDC Records are now privileged to announce the release of the song which has now been re-sung by a new singer who goes by the name of JS Mangat. JS Mangat has been awarded and recognised by Chamkila’s family and is now a fully pledged student of late Amar Singh Chamkila Ji.
JS Mangat still visits Amar Singh Chamkila’s Shrine regularly in hope that one day he would be able to follow in his footsteps and spending his time learning the skills that his Ustad had, but never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that he would be so lucky after marriage having in-laws so closely related in the same region of Dugri village, in Punjab where his Ustad Chamkila Ji was born and bred.
