Discography of his Albums – Exclusively on Punjabimohalla.com

“Mehfil-e-Sartaaj”. It has 8 tracks and each track is so pure that you will love to listen it again and again.
1.Ammi- This one is a beautiful song about mother and her love for her children. Sartaaj has sung it in a beautifal way.
“Duniya te sukh sabar shanti taan hai,` kyonki sabna kol amuli maa hai,
taap chade sir pattiyan kardi ammi hai, dukh saade lekhan de jardi ammi hai”
2.Dil- This one is also very beautiful where Sartaj compares the life of childhood and now. Very well written.
“Kade piplan de pateyaan di pipni banauni,
Kade khad darwazen di dholki vajauni,
Hun nagma sarangiyaan da shor ho gaya,
Dil pehlan jeha nahin reha eh kathor ho gaya,
Take duniya de rang thoda hor ho gaya”
3.Je Koi- This is a different style of song. A little fast paced and this proves that how good Sartaaj is in his singing and again mind blowing lyrics.
“Shayari da ghar door Satindra, Gayaki otho dooni,
Lale dhuuni je manjil chooni,
Kidan geet likhenga gaggar lafazan vaali ooni, Pyaar vihuuni,soch alooni,
Hun tu aape das ke kidan paaloo khichke bhangra banda langra,
Lokan nu ki devega khud hi jehda mangra”
4.Mann Kun To- One more beautiful song. Again good lyrics and brilliant singing. This song has a real spiritual touch.
“Kaazi soyee jo shara vich hoye kayaam,
Te gayak soi jo gale wich taan hove,
Shuru soi jo Rab da naam hove,
Te khatam soi jo naal imaan hove”
5.Motiya- This song proves that how good Satinder knows about Punjabi Culture. It has names of almost all the flowers. Many lines are brilliantly written like-
“Kankan de sitteyan de banuge clip, mein udikda sunehari kadon hunde ni” or
“Jaana paina fir sanu Malwe de val,ke Duabe vich Ful nahin pakaide”
6.Paani- This is again good song about the change which comes when one moves from village to City. This song has sweet memories of Punjabi Villages
“Yaad rakhda Vaisakhi ohne vekhaya hunda je, Rang Kankan da hare ton sunehari ho gaya, Paani panjan Dariyaavan wali vairi ho gaya, Munda pind da si shehar jaa ke shehari ho gaya”
7. Sai- And now the best song of this album. Starting with one of Baint of Waris Shah the song takes you to other world. Each line has a very special meaning. Excellent Song. A must listen.
8. Vekhan Ge- This song is my second favourite song. It feels very close to my own life. It looks like Satinder is chatting with your heart.
“Bade chir to khande dhabe di, Ghare fulka foloo vekhange,
Aje ghada akal da oona hai, Jad bhar ke dullu vekhange”

“IBADAT” The next album by Sartaj.This time the lyrics of most of the songs is not by Sartaaj. Mostly all the songs are old ones by our great Sufi poets. Here is a detail of all the songs::::

1)IBADAT:::
The title song is such a brilliant creation. This one written by Sartaaj himself. It has brilliant lyrics and combined with SS’s brilliant singing it creates a magic. With just a Harmonium and Tabla at background, SS gives this song his soul with his amazing style.
“Kyon hankar karda hain vi ik din khaak ho jaana,
Tere ton Janwar change jihnan di khal bandi hai”
2)JUDAAYIAN:::
This one is one of my favourite from this album. This song is a tribute to Late Deepak Jatoyi who was a punjabi poet and is written by Deepak Sir himself. This song is such a brilliance expressing every moment of judaai. Really loving anyone with true heart is most difficult.
“Kade aa ke vekhi akheen saadi jind kumlaundi
Din chain nahin aaunda raati neend nahin aaundi”
3)MANN:::
And this is my favourite. Though it was in first album also. But I liked this version more. This is a sufi kalaam written by great poet Tamir Khusro. This song is such a brilliance embedded with many glittering stanzas. Every stanza (Shaer) in it deserves a blog discussion. And moreover Sartaaj gives it a perfect start. Such a pleasure to listen.
“Tangdili nu jadon da door kita
je mein khush nahin haan te hairaan vi nahin,
Maala ferna tasvi da bird karna
je koi nafaa nahin hai te nuksaan vi nahin,
Manna murti kaabe de vich jaanda,
Raam aapna hai rehmaan nahin,
Jadon khayal aaunda ohdi bandgi,
rehnda hindu nahin Musalman vi nahin
Oh khuda mera mein khudai ohdi,
Ohdi yaad bina hor koi dhyaan vi nahin,
Daaman pive sharaab te kare sijda,
raaji rab hai gusse shaitan vi nahin”

4)UMARAN DE SAATHI:::
Another good one from SS. I was not expecting this type of song from SS really. A lover telling partner’s bewafayiaan. But really a good one. Sung with a brilliant style and a brilliant tune and an awesome lyrics.
“Tairna chanvan ch sikhaun valde,
saade piche maut gale laun valde,
Bhar bhar jehar diyan muthaan vandde,
Taliyan te chog nu chugaon valde,
Saade hathi ishqe di dor khub gayi,
Kho ke sathon gudiyan udaon lag gaye”
5)TAPPE:::
This is the sweetest song of this album. Some beautiful old tappas selected by SS. But somewhere it does not have that naughty side of basic tappas but still a treat to listen really.
“Ghada khoo te chod aayi haan,
Ghada khoo te chod aayi haan,
Aj dil khafa khafa aa mahiye nu tor aayi haan”

6)AA MIL YAAR:::
This is another sufi wonder from old days by Baba Bulle Shah. A real sufism touch in it treating god as our very own. Really nice one. Beautiful song with slow and fast pace both and again mind blowing singing.
“Karo kamai mere bhai, eho vakht kamavan da,
Pau sataran pende ne, Hun dam naa baazi haaran da,
Ujri khed ch bangayian nardan, jhadu kaun uthavagan tu…..”
7)TERE QURBAN:::
Another one from Baba Bulle Shah. A beautfiul song really with sufism explaining its height. Love without any condition. Really true na!!! a love with a condition is a bargain not love. And every stanza explains that at above all when SS is singing it, it is nothing less than a masterpiece.
“Teri jeha meinu hor na koi hove,
Dhunda jungle bele rohi ve,
Dhunda saara jahaan ve Aajaaaaaaa…..”

All credits to Bikram for his Work.

All the best to Satinder Sartaaj for his Work n future projects

babbu maan
Babbu Maan born as Tejinder Singh Mann on March 18, 1975, is a punjabi folk singer, lyricist, composer and actor who started his career with his punjabi album Sajjan Rumal De Gaya (1998) which was flop followed by Tu Meri Miss India in 1999, which was a moderate hit. Babbu Maan is widely famous for his distinctive music and lyrics, at present he is one of the great Punjabi singers who has given a new trend to Bhangra Music. His sad songs are incredibly touching and urbane with the synchronized Punjabi music, as that no one else could create. Now he is entrenched Punjabi pop singer, composer, lyricist, playback singer and actor as well. If we see history Babbu maan is the one and only artist in Punjab who has so many qualities.

Career

His third album Saaun Di Jhadi released in 2001 was his first highly successful album. It sold over ten million copies[citation needed] in India alone and many more overseas. It was followed by his very successful album, Ohi Chann Ohi Rataan. This album also fared well, both in terms of critics and sales. His fourth album Pyass was a hit. It was awarded as The Best Album of the Year in ETC Channel Punjabi Music Awards 2006. His fifth album was Mera Gham which was a highly successful Hindi album. Babbu Mann can play the harmonium, the mandolin, the drums and the guitar. He writes all of his lyrics, composes his music himself, since payass

Current

Babbu Maan’s third movie Hashar (2008) has been a hit all over Punjab and India. He plays the role of Maninder Singh who is the President of Panjab University, Chandigarh. It is a love story and has a unique but not-bollywood type climax. This story is based on the life and times of the Velly’s from Bhabat area. He has just released two new songs : Aashiquan Di Line and Uchiaan Imartaan. His first movie was Hawayein. That movie was based on sikh riots of 1984. His second movie was “Rabb ne banaiyan Jorhiyan” based on reality love of rich guy & poor girl.

Personal life

Babbu Maan was born in a well-known Jatt family in the Khant village situated on Chandigarh road.This 6.1″ feet guy has a strong connection to the people of his village, and still visits on a regular basis. Members of the family are father, mother and two sisters (married and residing in Canada). As a child he was very interested in music. He started singing when he was in third grade. He first sang on stage when he was seven years old, during a school function in Khant. He went to college at Government College in Ropar, where he got his Bachelors degree. He then moved to Chandigarh to attend Panjab University. He would see everything with the eyes of music as even to play with pans to create rhythmic sounds. He learned how to write lyrics, at college (Punjab University, Chandigarh) when he was about 16, and all those circumstances were taking him to be a super star. After that he started singing and composing music and so on. Sukhwinder Singh is his favorite singer. This is also known that Babbu Maan loves, the houses and walls made of clay and straw (Kucche Ghar). Throughout his school life, he never strayed from his first love, music. He sang for mavi music recording studio and recorded his first album when he was only 23. The next couple of years went well. Around this time, he released his super-hit album Saaun Di Jhadi.

lehmber-hussainpuri

Lehmber Hussainpuri (Punjabi: ?????? ?????????, lahimbar husainpur? pronounced [l?mb?r hus??npuri]) (born 17 July 1977 in Kapurthala, Punjab, India) is a popular bhangra singer in India, UK, USA, and Canada.

Career

Hussainpuri first appeared onto the mainstream bhangra scene through Mukhtar Sahota on a track titled ‘Sohni Lagdi’ who then moved onto a collaboration with Dr. Zeus on the album entitled Unda The Influence. This album was a success with both traditional and modern bhangra fans with such hits as Ah Ni Kuriye, Mele Vich Jatt and Tin Cheeja. He then did other notable tracks including Sachiyan Sunaiya,Gabroo Shokeen, Yaar, Daru and a notable appearance on the world-wide smash-hit DesiRock by Swami.

An unofficial compilation entitled The Best of Lehmber Hussainpuri was also released in 2005 by Jatt Records. A tribute album, in which Lehmber resang some of the great bhangra songs originally sung by Malkit Singh, Daler Mehndi, Sukshinder Shinda, etc. was released by VPearl Records entitled The Great Bhangra King. None of these were actual albums, rather just unofficial albums by various companies to which Lehmber branched off.

DEOL ENTERTAINMENT-Hussainpuri, in a relatively short time, has become one of the greatest Punjabi singers of recent times. He has many hit tracks on his own albums as well as on appearances on albums with Dr. Zeus, Aman Hayer, Simon Nandhra, RDB, DJ S-Bolina, DJ Sanj, Lil Sach and many others.

Hussainpuri is currently signed to Serious Records based in the UK. His solo début album was released in October 2006 and contained tracks produced by Jeeti, Kam Frantic and Aman Hayer. In a recent attempt Envy Records, the former label which Hussainpuri was signed to, released a new album entitled 21 Century King of Bhangra featuring 3 new tracks and all of Hussainpuri’s hit tracks from his Envy days. In response to this Hussainpuri released a video asking people not to buy the album and to only buy his albums which have been released by Serious Records. It has been stated that this is an attempt by Envy Records to get money back from Hussainpuri after he released Folk Attack early in India without their permission.

On September 19, 2007 Hussainpuri’s album “Phuchal” was released. It contained songs produced by Simon Nadhara, DJ VIX, Popsy, and Metz n Trix. This album had three versions to it. Phuchal, which was the original released by Serious Records in the UK. Then, Phuchaal was released by MovieBox Speed Records in India. Finally, Bhuchal was released by Planet Recordz in North America.

Recently, he has made appearances on 2 CDs, XS-BASS’ July 2008 release, “Amplified”, and DJ H & DJ Rags’ August 2008 release, “Reloaded”, on the songs “Mitran Da Dhol” and “Gulaab”. In a recent interview, Lehmber stated that another unofficial album would be releasing shortly and it would be called Naturally Punjabi.

In February 2009, Lehmber appeared on 2 songs on Jeeti’s “Serious Duets”. One was titled Mera Mahi Tu Pateya, which is actually just the re-worked Boliyan (this one featuring Miss Pooja) from Lehmber’s debut album Chalakiyan. The other was a brand new song titled Dil De Hoor, containing somewhat similar lyrics from the smash hit “Ah Ni Kuriye” one hit is ” Sadi Gali ”

Feud

Lehmber and Dr. Zeus made one of the best collaborations bhangra had seen since the likes of Jazzy B & S.Shinda. Together these two had various hits. But an incident around an album caused their breakup leaving yet another potentially greatest bhangra producer & singer duo lost. The last big breakup in the bhangra industry was of the band B21.

Zeus wanted Lehmber to sing all the songs on his next album. Lehmber had other plans and wanted his own solo début album. Zeus trying to convince Lehmber to do his album first, told Lehmber that he could release the Indian mixtape of Zeus’s album and receive all the money for it. Zeus also said he would produce Lehmber’s solo début album all for free. Lehmber gladly accepted but Zeus had about 4 months before going on tour and Lehmber wanted the album done by then so he could start his solo project. Zeus could have easily finished the album but didn’t meet the deadline (on purpose),[citation needed] therefore Lehmber took the uncompleted tracks to India behind Zeus’ back. He released the songs on the mixtape “Folk Attack” under BaseLine Records. Zeus was unhappy about how the tracks were leaked and therefore fired Lehmber from Envy Records. Zeus put the finishing touches on the songs (adding raps, backup singers, and skits) and released it as “The Original Edit”. Both versions of the albums were well received by listeners.

manmohan waris

Manmohan Waris (Manmohan was born 3 August 1970 in ‘Halluwal’, Distt. Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.

Life

Manmohan Waris is elder brother of Sangtar, (a renowned Punjabi record producer, musician & poet) & Kamal Heer, (a renowned Punjabi Folk/Pop singer). Waris is married to Pritpal Kaur Heer. They have two children; a boy named Amar Heer (after the name of Waris’ mentor Late ‘Dhadi Amar Singh Shounki’), and a girl named Saiya.[citation needed]. He learned the regional classical music from Late ‘Ustad Jaswant Bhanvra Ji’, along with his brothers.

Manmohan Waris is one of the top Punjabi singers in the world. He has been around for almost 12 years now. Since he released his first album “Gairan Naal Peenghan Jhootdeye’ in 1993, he has never looked back. Punjabis around the world love him and he feels the pressure of not letting them down. His humbleness and sincerity has won many hearts. His voice is considered one of the sweetest around and his songs attest to his passion for clean and literary lyrics. So far Waris has released 17 albums.

He was born into a farming family in the Village of Halluwal, Punjab. He had a great interest in music since an early age. He started his formal music training at the age of 11. Everything he learned from his Guru, he taught his younger brothers. So all three brothers got seriously involved in music at a very early age.

He got his music degree from Punjab University. But the most influential music Guru he had was Shree Jaswant Singh Bhanwra. Unlike many other Punjabi singers who also learned music from Shree Jaswant Singh Bhnawra, the Guru did not teach him so called “Lok-Gaayiki”, he insisted on teaching him the real music he knew himself. He saw a great singer in Manmohan and he wanted him to shine.

In 1990, Manmohan Waris’s family moved to Canada. Here he made his first album ‘Gairan Naal Peenghan Jhootdeye.’ The album was a great success and when Waris returned to Punjab, Punjabi’s everywhere just couldn’t get enough of him. So he decided to move back to India.

His career has never seen a foggy day since that time. Waris’ philosophy about his name and fame may have something to do with that. In his opinion “keeping your name on the top is not an easy thing, you have to work hard to get here, and you have to work harder to stay here”.

Manmohan got married in 1996 and in 1997 he and his wife Pritpal had their first baby. It was a boy and they named him ‘Amar’ after the great Punjabi Dhadi singer ‘Amar Singh Shaunki. Manmohan’s in-laws are also from the same village as the late Dhadi. Waris has recorded a few of Dhadi Amar Singh Shaunki’s songs as a tribute to him. These songs are:

1. Do Tara Vajda Ve (1993) 2. Aja Bhabi Jhoot Le (2000) 3. Ghar Hun Kitni Ku Doore (2003)

Manmohan’s latest religious release, named “Tasveer” contains 9 very touching and thoughtful songs. In 2001 Manmohan and his wife had their second child, a girl named ‘Saiya’. Manmohan spends most of the year in Punjab and he tours the west in the summer.

Manmohan’s songs are evergreen songs. People remember his earliest work same way as they do his latest. Manmohan’s latest Punjabi Album is titled “Nachiye Majajne”. The album is on Plasma Records/Kiss records and got a great response from Punjabis everywhere. The title song “Aja Appan Nachiye Majajne” with its Desi music and Dhole rhythms is a milestone on the future path of Punjabi music. Also the success of ‘Punjabi Virsa.’ another song from this album proves that there is still room for literary and meaningful poetry in the fast paced, single based commercial Punjabi music world.

Waris has always worked hard to put his efforts where his heart is. He is always eager to point out anything that gets his attention. He has never sung a song to gain mere a commercial success. But this is not his greatness, his greatness is that he doesn’t do it to serve his language or his native land, he just does it because he is that kind of person and it is his nature.

We hope that Waris will continue to give us thoughtful and yet entertaining music for many years to come and may God help him to live his dreams.
